I think the book does provide an opportunity to for children to ask questions. I do not think it helps them to answer their own questions. They would need outside resources to answer questions about rivers.

I am not sure if it would be appropriate by itself. I think this book could be used as a starting block for a study on rivers. It could also be used to find the things that are accurate and inaccurate in older grades.

It is based on rivers and where they travel and how the run into the ocean.
