This book might be a little high for some of my students, but a handful would find these stories to be interesting. This book could be a good read aloud book for the younger grades as they might not be able to read some of these biographies yet.

The women featured in this book are of multiple races and cultures. Each women is unique and is written about in a really encouraging way. I did not see any stereotyping in this book.

Is the book free from gender bias?

This book is all about women inventors, so it definitely has some gender bias. However, it is important to have a book about women inventors in the classroom to help girls be inspired by other women.

Since this book is a biography, it could be tied to Language Arts as well as Social Studies. This book can tackle multiple disciplines all in one fell swoop.
