Yes. The illustrations are beautiful and captivating. They are simply done and demonstrate his view of each bird. Each bird is detailed and gorgeous, yet the pages are never overwhelming. Personally, I was so captivated by each drawing that I would hang them as artwork in my own home.

Yes. The level of writing is appropriate for second through fifth grade. However, the illustrations can be shown to students of a younger age, and it is probable that even adults can use this book as a resource or opportunity to learn more about birds. The book includes a glossary in the back for troubling words.
