This book does foster development of processes. You are able to see the different creatures journey from start to finish. You are able to envision the process of their move.

Does the book provide an opportunity for children to ask and answer their own questions?

This book does not do the best job of providing opportunity to ask and answer questions. I could see the ending of the book allowing for more questions about other kinds of animals that move. And then bringing that back to this book to make that connection.

This book does not really encourage students to think for themselves. This book provides much fact. This book is broken down into each animal and is not really show much continuity.

Is the science topic addressed in ways that are appropriate to the lesson?

Very much appropriate to the lesson. The ideas of migration are thoroughly expressed. This shows the process and why someone is moving somewhere.

Is the content based on sound scientific principles? Is it accurate?

No not necessarily. This book does seem accurate and provides authors notes. This book does accurately address the topic of migration. Migration is something that can be talked about in most grades.

This book does not necessarily distinguish between fact and fiction. I think that the information provided is for the most part factual but there are elements to the story that make it playful that may be hard to distinguish for younger readers.

The illustrations are clear and accurate. I think that the illustrations add a lot to this book. They allow for more student connections to be made.

Yes the book is written at the level of my students. They would be able to understand the meaning of book and make connections. They would be able to take this book and also read it on their own.

There is not a multicultural component. There seems to be lots of fact. There is no stereotyping.

This book seems to be free from gender bias. It is solely talking about these animals. This book is showing their different migration patterns.

This book does not necessarily show close association between science and other disciplines. This book solely focuses on migration and that science process.
